day two hundred thirty three

So,
you're riding down the interstate, on your way to spend a few days in a new city.
You're with your friends and you're having a great time
and then,
"oh man!" and the car zips across 3 lanes to make it to the closest exit.
"uh, Matthew, this isn't where we get off"
"I realize this. We're overheating."
welp.
We spent the next hour and a half on the side of the road, calling our parents trying to figure out what had happened, calling a tow truck to take us to an auto repair shop.
and oh, it's Sunday. Nearly everything is closed.
By the time the tow truck got to us, almost everyone's parents had hopped in the car and were taking the two hour drive to help us, and to bring us a different car to take the remainder of the trip to Charleston.

So thankful for our awesome moms and dads.
Our arrival in Charleston came a few hours later than expected. But we got here! Hooray.

Also it rained in the bright sunshine when we got back in the car.
"The madness continues."

day two hundred thirty

At 5 am, before the sun, Matthew, Isaiah, and I woke up and hiked a mountain. It was a spontaneous idea and a good one, too. We weren't expecting it to be as difficult as it was (we accidentally took the trail that was nearly straight up and down, like climbing waist-high stairs the whole way.) but it was worth it once we got to the top, hikes are always worth it.

day two hundred twenty nine

we enjoyed our free day of conference with a visit to Black Mountain, eating delicious thai food, and having coffee.
