day forty eight

Today began with rain, rain, rain, and a hopeful forecast of heavy snow in the evening.

Queue the dozens of excited (or annoyed) Facebook statuses and Instagram photos.
But I shouldn't be the one talking. I Instagrammed it.

The snow kept us waiting until about 9:30 and then only lasted for about an hour, and half an inch on the ground at the most. I enjoyed it while it lasted (snowflakes on my tongue, built a tiny snowman, threw a snowball) and I'm thankful that I got to see snow this year, the chances were looking pretty slim.

Snow is something I adore and wish I could see more of. Recently we have gotten only a couple days a year with snow, and even then it's just barely any. I'm always happy to see the little bitty glorious flurries but so, so, so much wish that more would fall, or that I could call someplace snowier home. BUT, until then, I will happily accept my one snowy night.
and maybe even a few more inches will come this year. We shall see.
